Spherion has an opening for a Provider Communication Analyst for a large insurance company in Baton Rouge LA

Responsible for providing effective, efficient, and quality support to the Provider Communications Department by applying systems knowledge and expertise to resolve problems presented by our customers.

Assists in coordination of development, preparation and delivery of provider communication projects.


Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required. Four years of related work experience can be used in lieu of degree.

Must have two years experience in process analysis, preferably in a call center environment, gathering information and successfully implementing small projects by developing scope, goals, and implementation strategies.

Must have two years experience in health insurance claims including experience in developing system solutions and procedural enhancements and customer service administration. Experience can run concurrently.

Must have strong analytical and organizational abilities, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Ability to organize, lead and motivate assigned personnel and facilitate an effective team-oriented work environment.

Competently demonstrates presentation and facilitation skills working with assigned project personnel.

Must be skilled at research and fact finding in combination with a fundamental understanding of general business processes and organizational operations.

Proficient analytical and basic problem solving skills complemented by good critical thinking skills are required.

Must be able to competently manage and prioritize multiple project related assignments concurrently and effectively.

Writing, grammar and proofreading skills are required.

Working knowledge of relative software, database, and mainframe capabilities, especially Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Constant Contact. Adobe Creative Suite knowledge is a plus.


Provides technical assistance to the Provider Communications Department in supporting the direct needs of the communication coordinators, including but not limited to, researching problems, identifying, designing and initiating changes as needed in order to maintain departmental and/or divisional efficiency.

Prepares and submits timely reports included but not limited to, reporting detailed provider problems and resolution activities associated with addressing the issues, producing applicable reports related to the Provider Relations Annual Plan, and reporting significant service failure issues to management for review and resolution to ensure provider satisfaction.

Serves as the department leader and supports the communication coordinators to ensure efficiency. This includes but is not limited to management of multiple provider email inboxes, development and sending of mass email communications. Management of survey responses with detailed result reporting, sending internal emails to key contact persons within the organization, internal distribution of developed materials to key contacts within the organization, execute and manage mail out support tasks such as mail preparation and delivery to mail services, management of printed materials and pickup from printing services.

Demonstrates professionalism with all contacts through emails, written communications, phone calls, meetings and pursues development opportunities for professional growth in order to provide quality processes and procedures that allow Provider Communications to offer exceptional service to customers.

Assists in the development and/or documentation of policies and procedures to help achieve or exceed departmental, divisional or corporate goals.

Aids in the development of educational materials such as letters, guides, forms, workshops, including presentations, reservations, and materials for the purpose of educating and updating providers on any changes in company policy and/or procedures.
